Successful Event by Ellenbrook Multicultural in the 6th of November 2021 at Charlotte Vineyard Oval.
The committee of Management for the Ellenbrook Multicultural Community is thrilled with the amazing response to the festival on Saturday, November 6th, 2021. The day was a truly colorful multicultural experience with representatives from many of our local community groups. This was showcased by the amazing variety of local talent through arts and performances, traditional foods, games, music, and activities as well as the display and sale of cultural artifacts.
The Ellenbrook Multicultural Festival was presented by Ellenbrook Multicultural Community, City of Swan, Live Lighter & Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) in partnership with Ellenbrook Punjabi Council & Cook Islands Community WA Incorporated.
The Hon. Dr Tony Buti MLA, Hon. Rita Saffiotti MLA, Hon. Jessica Shaw MLA, Hon. Ayor Makur Chuot MLC, City of Swan Mayor David Lucas & Inspector Don Emanuel-Smith were all in attendance to show their support of the event.
The Ellenbrook community received major sponsorship from corporations & individuals including Australia Asia Business weekly, Jessica Shaw MLA, Ellenbrook Central, Ellenbrook community and general sponsors included Print Local, Esthers Bakery, AEPG, Ellenbrook Mile, The Angels Mission, Elegant Green, Men’s Shed Ellenbrook, Ellenbrook Falcons Hockey Club, Mega Drone Aerial Photography, BNI, Ellenbrook Lions Club, Jim’s Termite & Pest control, Bunnings Warehouse (Ellenbrook), Spotlight (Ellenbrook), BIG W (Ellenbrook), Focus Accounting, Bukola Esin.
The event was officially opened with a Welcome to Country ceremony performed by local elder, Mr. Vaughn McGuire and followed by an aboriginal cultural dance by Bardi Mogridge, Jaden and family. The other stage performances included the W.A Chung Wah Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe, Bhangra Rulez, Cook Islands Community WA Incorporated – Tua Tokerau, ECOV (Nichibu Traditional Japanese Dance), Eranapukaki Kapahaka Group & Wern Nop from the Ellenbrook Secondary College, The Peranakan Community of WA, Kinanti Perth, Hauruia, Perth North Tamil School, Ellenbrook Multicultural Drama Dance, Bukola Esin, West Swan Bhangra Girls, Anglicare Child & Parent Care Centre, St. Helena School, Nadar Toor (Bhangra solo) and Halle House of Fashion.
An array of traditional foods, arts and activities were provided by a combination of vendors, community groups and not-for-profit organizations which included Chat & Connect, Cultural corner which consisted of a Mooncake Festival, Rangoli art, Elegant Sari & traditional games, Turban Tying by West Coast Sikhs (Youth Team of Sikh Gurdwarra Perth Bennett Springs), Indian Crispy Chicken, The Angels Mission, Street Friends, Bibik Kebaya, CLAN Midland, East African Coffee, Glow Magic, Al Noor Arabic Community, Cook Islands Community WA Inc, Jessica Shaw MLA, Ellenbrook Lions Club (Train), City of Swan – Waste Education system, Ellenbrook Falcons Hockey Club, The Curry Stand, Warung Ade, Hot Jam Donuts, Kulfilicious Indian Icecream, Bump n Jump Bouncy Castles, Halfkast designs, BNI, Sister Project, Juice Junky, Hauruia Community Cultural Group, Anglicare Child & Parent centre, Royal Tarka, Halle House of Fashion, VCA 88.5FM (Ellenbrook), St John Ambulance and Ellenbrook Secondary College doing cultural face painting.
