農曆十二月初八，是佛陀成道日，又稱「法寶節」或「臘八節」。臘八粥的由來追溯至佛陀接受牧羊女供養乳糜的故事，象徵圓滿與感恩。正如星雲大師所說，臘八粥蘊含溫暖、圓滿、和諧、吉祥、健康、合作、營養、淡泊、方便、感恩、歡喜，以及緣結十方的深遠意義。

【2025 Dharma Day – Celebrating Buddha’s Enlightenment】
The 8th day of the 12th lunar month marks Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, also known as “Dharma Day” or “Laba Festival.” The tradition of Laba Congee originated from the story of the Buddha receiving milk porridge offered by a shepherdess before His enlightenment, symbolizing fulfillment and gratitude. As Venerable Master Hsing Yun explained, Laba Congee represents warmth, fulfillment, harmony, auspiciousness, health, cooperation, nourishment, simplicity, convenience, gratitude, joy, and the connection with all beings.
Fo Guang Shan Western Australia will hold the “Dharma Day Laba Congee Sharing Event” on Sunday, 5 January 2025, at the Five Contemplations Hall. We warmly invite you to join us in sharing the joy of Buddha’s enlightenment, receive His blessings, and cultivate wisdom and merit.
